Who We Are
The Bank Street Community Alliance works to support the community living at 1365 Bank Street. The alliance includes tenants, staff from Ottawa Community Housing (OCH), researchers from the University of Ottawa, and community organizations. Our goal is to help make 1365 Bank Street a safe, welcoming, and supportive place for everyone

Our mission is to focus on what matters most to residents at 1365 Bank Street.
We work together to improve safety in the building, support children and youth, increase access to services, and build stronger connections between neighbours.
We are committed to creating a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and connected.
We believe that a strong community is built by the people who live in it.
The Alliance works to support the community and improve daily life for residents. We listen to what tenants need and care about, and we work together to find solutions.We organize events and activities that bring people together. We also share information about services and supports in the community, like health services, youth programs, and safety resources. We work with partners such as community organizations, the City, and safety services to help respond to community needs.
What We Do
How This Group Started
The Bank Street Community Alliance began in 2023 as part of a partnership between Ottawa Community Housing, the University of Ottawa, and community organizations.The goal was to strengthen the community by listening to tenants, building relationships, and working together on solutions. A group of tenants started meeting regularly with staff and researchers, and over time, this group grew into the Bank Street Community Alliance.
How We Work Together
The Alliance meets regularly, usually once a month. Tenants play an important role by sharing their ideas and helping guide the work. Decisions are made together, and everyone’s voice matters.The Alliance also works with a larger group of partners, called a coalition. This includes community organizations, city representatives, and support services. Together, we share ideas, plan activities, and support the community.
